"I'm Gonna Love You Through It"

“I’m gonna love you through it” by Martina McBride is currently the number nine song according to billboard.com. This song is about a lady who just discovered she has cancer. The song talks about not only how the woman coped with it but also her husband. This song is very motivational and also sad. The song relates to the story of many women’s lives that have to suffer through breast cancer. She also talks about how cancer doesn’t pick who its victim is.
Martina was inspired by her mom to write this song. She was battling breast cancer at the time. When they began writing the song they called her mom to talk to her about her experience. That is where they got the lyrics about her husband holding and loving her through it.
"I'm Gonna Love You Through It"
She dropped the phone and burst into tears
The doctor just confirmed her fears
Her husband held it in and held her tight
Cancer don’t discriminate or care if you’re just 38
With three kids who need you in their lives
He said, "I know that you’re afraid and I am, too
But you’ll never be alone, I promise you"

When you’re weak, I’ll be strong
When you let go, I’ll hold on
When you need to cry, I swear that I’ll be there to dry your eyes
When you feel lost and scared to death,
Like you can’t take one more step
Just take my hand, together we can do it
I’m gonna love you through it.

She made it through the surgery fine
They said they caught it just in time
But they had to take more than they planned
Now it's forced smiles and baggy shirts
To hide what the cancer took from her
But she just wants to feel like a woman again
She said, "I don't think I can do this anymore"
He took her in his arms and said "That's what my love is for"

When you’re weak, I’ll be strong
When you let go, I’ll hold on
When you need to cry, I swear that I’ll be there to dry your eyes
When you feel lost and scared to death,
Like you can’t take one more step
Just take my hand, together we can do it
I’m gonna love you through it.

And when this road gets too long
I'll be the rock you lean on
Just take my hand, together we can do it
I’m gonna love you through it.
I’m gonna love you through it.

Kenny Chesney- "Reality"

Kenny Chesney’s song “Reality” is currently the number seven song according to Billboard.com. This title of this song is basically the meaning of the whole song. It describes life and how it can be an up and down thing. It talks about the good and bad things in life and how reality is different for everyone.
“Reality” is from the album “Hemingways Whiskey” which has produced many other top hits including “Boys of Fall” and “You and Tequila.” According to Taste of Country, Kenny has been thinking about using the title Reality for a while, and this was the perfect opportunity. Kenny decided to write this song on his trip to the dentist office, when they gave him anesthesia to put him to sleep and he says he remembers thinking it was his escape from reality.
For me it's a beach bar
Or on a boat underneath the stars
Or with my band up on a stage
For a while everything's okay

For some it's a fast car
Moonshine in a mason jar
And everybody has their way
Somehow to escape

Reality, yeah, sometimes life
Ain't all that it's cracked up to be
So let's take a chance and live this fantasy
'Cause everybody needs to break free from reality

Yeah, some days it's a bitch, it's a bummer
We need a rock and roll show in the summer
To let the music take us away
Take our minds to a better place

Where we feel that sense of freedom
Leave our worries behind, we don't need 'em
All we need is a sunny day and an old tailgate
And we'll escape

Reality, yeah, sometimes life
Ain't all that it's cracked up to be
So let's take a chance and live this fantasy
'Cause everybody needs to break free from reality

Everybody raise your hands and voice tonight
Set your soul free, let's take a carpet ride
We'll leave it all behind

Reality, yeah, sometimes life
Ain't all that it's cracked up to be
So let's take a chance and live this fantasy
'Cause everybody needs to break free from reality

Come on everybody, break free
Come on everybody, break free

Currently the top country music song, according to Billboard.com, is “Let It Rain” by David Nail. David Nail is a fairly new voice to country music and only has a couple other songs out that have been top hits. These songs are “Red Light” and “I’m About To Come Alive.” David’s career started out rough, he always had a dream of singing country music but had trouble dealing with the city of Nashville the first time he move there. He then moved back home and after some time returned to Nashville. His career was looking up until his first album was never released. He turned to coaching baseball but didn’t give up hope. Introduced by his friend Frank Liddell he signed a recording deal with MCA Nashville in 2007.

David Nail is both the song writer and artist of “Let It Rain.” David had already come up with the phrase “Let It Rain” before he began writing this song. His lyrics are based off of a movie “The Last Kiss.” In the movie his fiancé leaves him and he is told he has to wait till she is ready. He sleeps on the steps and the weather gets progressively worse. At the end of the movie there is no dialogue and the reader is left to guess what happens to the couple. It only shows her coming back but it doesn’t reveal why.

It's hard to find the perfect time to say something
you know, is gunna change everything
Living with the shame,
it ain't nothing like the pain that I saw on her face
Now me and my pile of things
that she threw out the window,
Drowning next to me
No seven years of good cant hide the one night I forgot to wear that ring

So let it rain, let it pour, she don't love me anymore,
Just let it come down on me, let it come down on me,
Every word, let it hurt, even more than I deserve,
Let it come down on me, let it come down on me, let it rain
last thing I remember was the unfamiliar taste of someone on my lips,
It's to late to turn around,
[. From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/d/david-nail-lyrics/let-it-rain-lyrics.html .]
When the shades start coming down,
The guilt you feels the last thing on your mind

So let it rain, let it pour, if she don't love me anymore,
Just let it come down on me, let it come down on me,
Every word, let it hurt, even more than I deserve,
just let it come down on me, let it come down on me, let it rain
So let it rain, let it pour, if she don't love me anymore,
Just let it come down on me, let it come down on me,
every word, let it hurt, even more than I deserve, just let it come down on me,
let it come down on me, let it rain,
Ooh let it rain, ooh let it rain, just let it rain, just let it rain, ooh let it rain

First Blog :)

The topic I chose to write about is current top country songs. I chose this subject because I mainly listen to the country music genre. I will be able to write about this topic because of how frequently I listen to the genre. I also keep up with the new songs coming out and the top charts in country music. When I blog about this topic I will talk about the artist of the song and the reason they chose to sing that particular song. Other things I plan to include are what I think the song means, criticism of the song, aspects of the song I like, and the lyrics of the song.
